Most
of us have pirated something, whether we realize it or not.
Whether its downloading mp3s, copying videotapes or photocopying
a page of a book, we could all be fined or even put in jail
for doing these things. The FBI recently issued a new Anti-Piracy Warning Seal to be placed on software products, CDs, DVDs, video tapes and other media. The DBI responded by issuing the No Copyright Seal.
The
DBI believes in the right of individuals to use and distribute
information as they see fit. "Intellectual Property"
can only restrict and commodify the flow of information and
ideas. So if you believe in sharing and exchange, use the DBI No
Copyright Seal on whatever you make; it'll ensure that it cannot
be copyrighted by any person, business, or organization...not
even you.
