For this assignment you will be given a 2 minute long video clip which will have not have a sound track. Your task is to create a sound track which will serve as a complement to and integrate with the visual images. You can be as abstract or as concrete as you like so long as the sound track reflects and adds to the narrative of the visual element. Remember that all sounds MUST BE CREATED BY YOU. Technical Requirements: - Use at least 3 tracks.
- Use fades when appropriate (remember that more is not always better).
- Use both recorded sounds and MIDI instruments from Reason or Logic (try to have a balance).
- Use effects and tempo changes to your advantage (at least one effect and one tempo change is necessary).
- Write an email describing which effect you used and why, and where and how the tempo changed.
Things to Think About: - How can you use sound to support the narrative?
- What sorts of textural effects (for example sparse, dense, active, static, etc.) will help to integrate the piece as a whole?
- What quality of sound do the images imply (abrasive, noisey, pointed, dull, etc.).
- How should the form of the sound track correspond or work in opposition to the narrative development?
